SMA has been great community for my son to join. Everyone has been kind and helpful, and my son throughly enjoys going to class. I also appreciate that they offer summer camp!
My daughter has been doing martial arts for about 4 years at Swanson's and she's loved it. She's gotten discipline and social skills that she didn't get elsewhere as well as being proud of what she's accomplished. The instructors are all fabulous and amazingly patient, helping with form and with some of the more difficult maneuvers. My daughter has asked to sign up for me classes with Swanson's because she enjoys the instructors and classmates so much.
My middle daughter joined SMA about a year ago. As a parent I sat and watched her in class, and had a front row seat to seeing her transform from a somewhat uncoordinated, not into anything middle child into a confident, hard working dedicated Taekwondo student. Her kicks got higher, her coordination and flexibility improved, but most importantly she was willing to try new things, step out of her comfort zone and push her self physically and mentally. I'm confident that her transformation and joy in class come directly from Master and Mrs. Master Swanson and their team of incredible instructors. The love and dedication they have for their students is unmatched. The first time you walk in their doors you become part of the SMA family. We loved our kids transformation so much that the other 4 of us decided to join. Together as a family we are able to immerse ourselves in a positive environment, spend quality time together, and work towards transforming ourselves both in and outside the studio in the areas of courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self control and indomitable spirit. If you are looking to try martial arts you can't pick a better place than SMA.

We moved here from Uzbekistan where our boys were schooled in the ITF (International Taekwondo Federation) fundamentals.
We searched many martial arts schools in the Lincoln area that would teach the same type of martial arts as the ITF.
We discovered SMA (Swanson's Martial Arts) they were closest we found to the ITF trainings and we have been very pleased with the boys accomplishments.
During the summer last year in 2023 we went back to Uzbekistan where the boys were able to train again over the summer with there old school and they were right on track with ITF.
The instructors are very good, they focus on those who they see need a little extra boost and commend those who are doing great on their own.
Our boys really enjoy and look forward to training and competitions.

I have my child enrolled in taekwondo at Swanson’s and I absolutely love the progress he has made in such a short time. He asks to go to class as well so I know he loves it. My child is 4 and they are so patient with him and make sure he’s understanding what they want him to do.
I honestly can't tell you of how impressed I am with Swanson Martial Arts. When I walked through those doors over a year ago I was greeted and treated like family. A year later it hasn't changed. If you want a great workout and a great atmosphere, come check it out.
The Swansons have done a fantastic job at creating a safe place for all kinds of people for a wide range of ages. For a while I would just tag along with my boyfriend who has been taking classes since he was a little kid just because of how fun and welcoming a place SMA is. Now I attend class along with my youngest brother. We always look forward to the weekend because class is just so fun, everyone who attends is just so kind and they all work together so well. SMA is a great place for everyone!

I went here a couple years ago and I always had such a fun time because the classes and teachers are absolutely amazing but I sadly had to stop because of medical reasons. I will hopefully be joining back this year soon! I will always love this place.

We love SMA! In the few short months my kiddo has been attending classes here I see SO much improvement in attitude and how much he can move! All the teachers are amazing and have so much patience. Really a great place to learn.

Swanson's Martial Arts offers a great curriculum with enthusiastic, positive attitude instructors. This school fosters a sense of community for both students and parents, and is a great place for both young and older students (like myself) to learn and train. Everything is kept clean, organized and the equipment (pads/heavy bags) well maintained. I highly recommend SMA to anyone interested in Taekwondo, Hapkido or Philippine combatives!
